e- Assessment policy
Scope
Centres intending to use electronic assessment processes are required to develop an e-assessment policy that complies with specific criteria relating to staff and learner support, security and compatibility. Agored Cymru is committed to the supporting in their introduction of e-assessment techniques that will benefit both learners and centres.
The groups which need to be included
Centre staff responsible for curriculum development, quality assurance and technical support of the systems.
The principles
Centres are required to liaise with Agored Cymru regarding the introduction of e-assessment for use with its qualifications and/or units. This will ensure that procedures can be reviewed and appropriate arrangements for verification can be established.
Staff and learners should be adequately trained in the use of technology relating to e-assessment.
Centres are required to use systems to verify the authenticity of learners and their assessment evidence and to ensure that assessment material is stored safely. Internal verification systems must be applied to all assessments.
Centres are required to take responsibility for complying with legal requirements, regulations and codes of practice (e.g. data protection, disability discrimination, copyright, health and safety etc.) when using e-assessment for the internal assessment of a qualification and/or unit.
