Learning Outcomes Assessment Criteria
The learner will The learner can
1. Understand the skills required when interacting with other people.
1.1 State the importance of listening skills when interacting with other people and identify how they can be effectively applied.
1.2 State the importance of confidentiality when interacting with other people and the protocols to be applied.
1.3 State the ways s/he can communicate effectively with other people.
1.4 Identify three ways of effectively presenting him/herself to other people.
2. Understand how prejudice and discrimination can affect the way s/he interacts with people.
2.1 Define the terms 'discrimination' and 'prejudice'.
2.2 State an example when s/he may have been discriminated against.
2.3 Identify possible issues/situations that may cause a discriminatory reaction and state how this could be avoided/overcome.
2.4 Identify how s/he treats and works with people who are different to him/her self.
2.5 Outline why it is important not to subject other people to his/her beliefs.
2.6 State how to ensure that s/he does not subject others to his/her own beliefs.
