Creating Qualifications, rewarding achievement

Employability

As an awarding body Agored Cymru has the development of employability skills as one of its central aims. With flexibility of delivery, the variety of units available, and the fact that many courses and qualifications can be personallised for individual learners, credit based learning is particularly suited to the acquisition of these skills. Consequently, they are embedded in a wide range of our provision, and in particular the following qualifications that we offer:

  • NOCN Level 2 Certificate in Employability. This Qualification comprises a combination of mandatory core and a selection of optional units. It is aimed at building confidence and providing relevant fully transferable skills for a broad range of learners, who are 16 years or older, and who wish to enter or re-enter employment. • NOCN Qualifications in Progression. Also comprising mandatory and optional units, this suite of qualifications offers the opportunity to achieve Awards, Certificates or Diplomas form Entry Level to Level 3. • NOCN Skills Towards Enabling Progression (Step-UP). Similar in format to the Qualifications for Progression, Step-UP has been specifically developed for use by learners from the age of 14 who require a flexible and achievable alternative to traditional qualidfications. The Qualification is currently available at Entry 3 and Level 1, although Level 2 will be available in the near future. It is designed so that centres can develop a personalised curriculum for individual learners, and it attracts performance points for Achievement and Attainment tables .
