Creating Qualifications, rewarding achievement

Partnership Arrangements

Agored Cymru is often approached by small organisations who wish to offer accreditation to learners, or by organisations who may initially wish to offer accreditation to a small number of learners.

Often these aspiring centres are likely to only accredit 10 – 20 learners completing 2-3 credits each. As centres pay annual recognition fees as well as a charge per credit the unit cost of credit is very high. In addition the income received by Agored Cymru is less than the cost of supporting, training, quality reviewing and verifying such a centre.

A number of Agored Cymru recognised centres already enter into agreements with aspiring centres to allow them to accredit their learning and we are now seeking ways to encourage/facilitate this arrangement.  The common underlying principles are:

  • Financial arrangements are between the two centres; recognised centres take administrative and quality assurance costs into account.
  • The “parent” centre applies its quality systems to the “secondary centre” and involves the “secondary centre” in its quality activities.
  • The “parent centre” acts as a conduit to book any Agored training required by the “secondary centre”.
  • Agored Cymru does not have any direct contact with the ‘secondary centre’.
  • The ‘secondary’ centre can, with the agreement of the recognised centre arrange for their centre title to appear on the certificates.

If any recognised centres are interested in becoming a “parent centre” please contact Huw Jones at Agored Cymru who is currently compiling a list to be made available to organisations considering partnership arrangements.

If you are an organisation new to accreditation please submit a New Business Enquiry for further details.

The centres below welcome Partnership – please make direct contact.
