The learner will:
The learner can:
1. Understand the basis of basic rhythm structure.
1.1 Identify the number of bars in a loop. 1.2 Identify the number of beats in a bar. 1.3 Identify a number of fractions within a single beat. 1.4 Demonstrate how each drum is sequenced to create a drum beat.
2. Understand musical scales.
2.1 Identify the notes within a musical scale. 2.2 Use the notes within a scale to create a bass line.
3. Understand basic harmonic structure.
3.1 Identify and demonstrate the mathematical intervals of major / minor chords. 3.2 Create a sequence of chords.
4. Understand how to compose and perform a remix by combining original music with a cappella recording.
4.1 Create a piece of music that combines drums, chords and melody. 4.2 Choose an a cappella recording to mix with the track. 4.3 Demonstrate operation of the equipment by performing his/her composition whilst being recorded.
